Introducing the NEW i-Theater XT head mounted display. The iTheater XT is a sleek, comfortable and lightweight wearable video display equivalent to a 50” big screen TV.

Big Screen TV for the iPod.
To enjoy big screen video and outstanding audio quality, simply plug the iTheater XT into your favorite video source (DVD, VCR, Game Console) with the included RCA cables. You can even connect it to your Video iPod with the included iPod Interface Cable. The specially designed cable plugs directly in to your iPod's headphone jack and provides all the necessary AV jacks for the iTheater glasses. All video appears as a 50” big screen TV image as if viewed from 8ft away.

Advanced Electronics: The i-Theater XT integrates all the video eyewear functions into one rugged, low-power, plug-and-play module. The system's binocular display module (BDM) includes two video displays, backlights, drive electronics, and a pair of 32-degree field-of-view optics with large eye relief (20 mm) and pupil size (10 mm).

The displays are precisely aligned to the optics and to each other for viewing comfort, and the package is designed to maintain alignment during use. Its low power consumption allows for long battery-powered viewing time - up to eight hours from the included re-chargeable lithium polymer battery. The unit also comes with a USB power cable.

The mobile video revolution has begun. The combination of video microdisplays, adapters, surround-sound stereo and battery pack, make it ideal for consumers to privately view theater-quality video, photos and websites from small mobile devices such as cell phones, Video iPods, portable DVD players, and personal multimedia players. This small unit is proof that the mobile video revolution has begun and will change the way information and entertainment is delivered to people, wherever they go.

What does the video look like on the iTheater?
The itheater is the same thing as strapping a big 50" big screen tv to your face, without the neck strain. The pair of small lcd screens within the iTheater head mounted video display will appear as a huge video screen once you slip on the itheater glasses.

Can I play video games on the iTheater?
Yes, you can use most video game systems with the iTheater. Any video game system which uses common RCA video and audio connectors will work with the iTheater. Some of the newer video game systems such as the PS3 which transmit 1080p video may not be such a good pairing with the iTheater since the video would not be scaled properly for a lower resolution display (use a scaler for this).

I have personally used the Playstation and Playstation 2 with the iTheater and have enjoyed the results.

What ever happened to virtual reality glasses?
Is the iTheater anything like a virtual reality headset? Virtual reality glasses were over hyped when the LCD technology was too primitive to offer good results. Nintendo slammed the final nail in the coffin with their horrible VR game system a few years back, after this people ran the other way when ever the term virtual reality was used, hence the new term Head Mounted Display.

The iTheater can be considered a virtual reality headset (or VR headset), although with out any head motion tracking ability (head tracking would allow your point of view to change when you turned your head… this is not available with the iTheater). The large viewing screen size simulates a user being in a movie or video game as best as current technology allows.

What does the iTheater video image look like?
As stated before, any video, movie, TV or video game played on the iTheater will look as it would on a 50" big screen TV as viewed from 8ft away. The image will not take up all of your vision, there will be a small amount of space to all sides of the image… allowing you to have some peripheral vision if needed.
